Peter Walkingshaw
Peter is a Cumbrian “born and bred” and has been pastor at Carlisle Baptist Church since September 2010.
Peter says “ It is such a privilege to be helping people here in Carlisle to meet the Jesus of the Bible. We are all about connecting people to Jesus, seeing people transformed by Jesus and then sending folk out in the name of Jesus.”
Peter has previously worked as an electrician and for a Cumbrian Christian education charity (NISCU). He trained for four years in London at the Cornhill Training Course and at Oak Hill Theological College. Peter served as associate minister for Trinity Church, Buxton for eight years before coming to Carlisle. Peter is also a member of the Act29 network.
Peter has been married to fellow Cumbrian Lucy for 15 years. They have two daughters and two sons. The family enjoys all kinds of music, walks in the hills, fusion food, swimming and movies.
